The significance of this trade exhibition for the logistics industry was underlined by Germany´s Minister of Transport, Dr. Peter Ramsauer, during the opening ceremony: “This is a global gathering, because logistics is the flywheel of the economy, not just in Germany. This trade show has proven to be a real engine for growth.”
His colleague from Luxembourg, Etienne Schneider, Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, was also enthusiastic: “To raise Luxembourg´s profile as a platform for logistics in Europe and around the world, we decided to take part in the most important logistics trade fair the world has to offer. The international scope at this event is unique.”
The show recorded strong growth in visitor numbers from, for example, China, France, Russia and Turkey. After Germany, the top ten countries of origin for visitors were as follows (in this order): Austria, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium and Spain.
